Starting in January 2020, each year, Global CINEMATHEQUE will present the World Cinema Awards: a year-end list of awards celebrating the best international cinema; honoring and spotlighting the talent in productions produced outside of the United States in the official language of the producers and directors of the films.

International film festival and film museum directors, programmers, curators and US-based film journalists will form the selection committee, bringing together two communities that are immersed in the global cinema landscape throughout the year.

The World Cinema Award winners were announced today in Los Angeles.
